It’s no surprise that the boys’ soccer team is dominating the season once again. The team has always shown that they are fierce competitors. Surely, the boys have been imputing a lot of hard work to be successful. Hard work has been essential for the team to reach higher standards especially while they participated in the PepsiCo Showdown. Participating in the tournament has given the team the opportunity to experience a more competitive environment. This did not faze them; they took the challenge head on. With this determination the boys climbed their way up to the semifinals, defeating Hinsdale South and Burlington Central High School.

Clearly, the boys on the soccer team have a good relationship to have such stellar success. One of the varsity players, Bobin Jimenez said, “I feel like everyone on the team is very close due to the fact that everyone talks to everyone and that we consider everyone family”. The family atmosphere of the soccer team has helped them with their communication skills and the their performance on the field. Although the soccer team shows great teamwork, playing on the team can be frustrating at times. When asked what the most frustrating part of being on the team was, Bobin said, “I think the most frustrating thing is that we sometimes doubt ourselves and I absolutely hate that because I know that everyone can reach a very high level of skill and it’s frustrating to know that people doubt themselves”. Even with obstacles in their way the Bobcats always face them head on and continue to be a powerful team.
