There is only one minute left for you to get to your class and at the end of the hall there is a clique of students in front of you are walking at the pace of a turtle. You feel a headache coming as you scream internally with hopes of you finding an opening in the sea of people or in hopes that they’ll hurry up.
Unfortunately for many students at BOYCP, this situation isn’t unheard of. As a matter of fact, it’s a daily occurrence that sparks a minute-long hatred between people that have never even met. The psychology behind this is simple, obstacles cause annoyance and anger. Everyone goes to the same school, so it is best to get along with each other, or at least not be a nuisance on purpose.
One specific incident that a student faced was when he or she was abruptly stopped by others in the hallway. The student also mentioned how students stop in front of each other and then do an annoying side-step dance because they can’t decide on which way to pass.
Another circumstance that constantly infuriating is when students avoid sticking to one side of the stairs. Everyone has been in the obnoxious situation when a student or even multiple students are trying to walk down the stairs in the same direction that you’re going up or vice-versa.
The strategy to know which side of the hall or stairs is to stick to the right side of the direction you’re going. Whether it’s up the stairs or down., do not be the person that refuses to give the right of way when you’re the one in the wrong lane. One day, someone will suplex you with all of their newfound strength through this frustration. Do not be an obstacle.
On a serious note, please be considerate of the people around you. Try to be decent human beings. Putting others through this first world problem will probably make you feel better, but it won’t fix your problems.
