Prom is a milestone for seniors when graduating high school. Students usually spend months preparing for prom. Money is essential in this situation due to the fact that students need to pay for a prom ticket and apparel. Girls typically purchase lengthy gowns, extravagant accessories, and products for hair and make-up. Boys usually buy fitted suits and classy shoes. This can total up to a high cost for both the student and the parents. Movies make high school prom appear like a dream. Therefore, most people have high expectations for prom. Is prom really worth it?

Different people have different opinions on prom. Prom is a chance to celebrate the end of high school journeys, however, some people are not interested in prom and are not planning on going. Many think that spending money on new dresses, shoes, and suits are not worth purchasing. In addition, these items are usually only worn once. This can be a problem, especially for families who do not have the money to spend on such items.

Although some may argue on stating that prom is pointless, others may say prom is a valuable memory for the last year of high school. Also, prom is a chance to have conversations and make friendships. It is a time to enjoy dancing with friends, lovers, and a time to build stronger and better relationships.
