This year’s boys’ volleyball season holds no comparison to its last. The boys prove that Bobcats don’t simply give up. Since they started conditioning, they have been working hard and putting their everything into practice. All their effort and work is being reflected on the courts day after day.

One team member, Hector Muñoz, said, “Last year we started off horrible. We didn’t win that many games since most of us had never played volleyball before.” Now, they have achieved an impressive 11 total wins with only 2 losses and are 6-1 in conference. They work as a team every step of the way. The team supports each other at practice and when facing opponents. They motivate each other through the ups and downs of the game and always encourage each other to work their hardest. In frustrating times, they keep it together, and stay “calm, cool, and collected” as the Loyola coaches taught them to.

Just like all sports, volleyball takes time and dedication. Each member takes his role in the team seriously, and always aim to better himself each day. As head coach, Ms. Wu said, “Every single one of our players have the ability to play at such a high level, but that’s something we must constantly be reminded of when we face our opponents.”

The team goes out on the court not only representing themselves, but everyone in our school. They didn’t reach their goal to win the conference this season, but they proved to all Chicago that BOYCP is on the block!
