Imagine the weather, relaxing and warm, so why can’t we go outside to have class? As we know, BOYCP has many different outdoor facilities for students. Next to the football/soccer field and the softball field, there is an area covered by the grass. However, this area is not open and being used. Also, there are many advantages to letting teachers and students use the grass field.

Opening the grass field to the students and teachers is beneficial. There are difficulties in keeping students’ attentions inside of classroom, especially when there is nice weather outside. The solution can be using the natural environment because it catches students’ attention. To make BOYCP better, students can develop and learn through play and outdoor experiments.

The environment affects how well students study. When we are studying at the grass field, we are affecting by nature and feeling nature. According to the article, 11 Proven Benefits of Outdoor Learning, “After studying on an outdoor curriculum basis, students from 11 schools scored higher than students of traditional systems in 72% of assessments in everything from math and science to attendance.”  Outdoor learning helps students do better on different aspects.

The main purpose of BOYCP is to get students ready for college; therefore, a grass field is important because it’s a place that provides silence and nature to develop knowledge.  Students in college usually study and read on grass during their free time. In other words, nature also helps students develop good study habits. Students need to convince the school to let them use the grass field. It is beneficial for students and teachers to study, teach, and relax in nature.
