Swimming is a sport that makes people push themselves beyond their limits. There are many students at BOYCP who choose to join the swim team. However, the boys, who represent BOYCP at competitions, are the hardest working ones because they are motivated to show how much they have improved over the season.
This season, the BOYCP boys’ swim team tried hard to be successful in their competitions. The boys’ goal was to win their conference which took place on January 28th. ADD STUFF
The team members always looked forward to winning their meets, but more importantly, the swimmers are hoping to improve their endurance as well as their personal records. Coach Hoyte stated, “the boys and I are working extremely hard to focus on [our] conference meet as well as to improve in the last few meets to come.”
Therefore, Coach Hoyte gives different training plans according to the swimmers’ grades, skills, and swimming levels. In order to achieve their goal this season, Coach Hoyte always encouraged the boys to try their best and break what they think are their limits as they further develop their skills. Coach Hoyte has his own plan to help his boys be best prepared.
For the new season, Coach Hoyte has expected the boys’ swimming team to have more swimming skills because the swimmers have more experience than they have in previous years. Their improved skills are especially important since the older swimmers can now teach new members. Coach Hoyte said, “the expectations I have for them are to kick it up a couple of notches to learn and execute swim skills if we want to accomplish our goal of becoming conference champions.” Coach Hoyte wanted the BOYCP boys’ swimming team to end their season proudly. They are a representation of the hard work and achievements developed by all student-athletes. The boys have the potential and grit to come back next season.
